Masri Mohamed, better known as Moe Masri aka Moe Beats, is a Singaporean Music Producer, Composer & Songwriter.
Born and raised in Singapore, South-East Asia, Moe studied Synthesizers (Yamaha Music School) and MIDI Programming (City Music School) in his teens. He graduated from Staffordshire University, UK with BSc (Computing). Born in a musical family, he is a grandson to Malaysian songstress, Datok Yusni Hamid.
Since starting making beats in 2005, he only went to hustle his beats in 2006 after reading about Fatman Scoop looking for beats on the now-defunct Scratch Magazine.
In 2007, Moe sent his beats to Canadian Rapper, Masia One, who was looking for beats to complete her new album. Eventually, she recorded one of them and became the title-track “Pulau” featuring Isis (Thunderheist), Lady E & DJ Sarasa.
In Sept 2008, “Pulau”, the album was released in Canada under the Merdeka Group and in Japan under the Kratez Label. “Pulau” received several good reviews and even charted the charts in Canada (#2 on CBC Radio 3 Charts & #1 HipHop Record on CJAM 91.5 MHz – Windsor) and Singapore (#9 on Ria Chartz – RIA 89.7FM).
In 2009, Moe signed a music production and management deal with Dunn Deal Records & Dunn Deal MGMT (USA).
His works was noticed by Timbaland producers “The Demolition Crew” (Chris Cornell, Nelly Furtado). His music has also been heard by other Timbaland affiliates: Jim Beanz, Amar, Sebastian, former Timbaland artist – Izza Kizza, Danjahandz artist – Cali Stylz, Akon artist – American Yard, DJ KaySlay, DJ Whoo Kid, Yeyo (The D.E.Y.), DJ Smallz, Konvict Music, Mysto & Pizzi…
In 2009, His track “BLACK SHADES” by Virginia Artist, CRAIG BASS featuring N.A.R.S./DANJAHANDZ Artist, CALISTYLZ was on Radio Rotation at EMINEM’s “SHADE 45 SIRIUS RADIO”.
In 2010, his track “Oh Yeah” by CRAIG BASS was featured on DJ SMALLZ mixtape.
In 2010, he was featured as “Melayu Global” (Globalised Malay) on MANJA magazine (Singapore)
In 2010, he produced and composed the theme song and soundtrack for “Kopi Bujang”, one of the highly-rated drama series for 2010 on Mediacorp Suria Television (Singapore).
In 2011, he was heard by Larry Live, A&R and Talent Scout for Timbaland (Timbaland Productions).
